If you're here to grind an axe, do it somewhere else.

SJasminum sock

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that SJasminum sock continues to upload, but to a lesser extent on English Wikipedia. I became aware of this after this update of Tambayan Philippines article alerts, listing one of his local uploads that got nominated for deletion there. Again, I leave the matter to other users, just as what I said here. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 07:48, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think Commons and en.wp need to get together and ask the office to get involved here. This has been going on since at least 2009. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:59, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Location?

Hi Just Step Sideways - I saw you removed the approximate location I had added to File:Blackcottonwoodtrunk.jpg, with the comment 'that's a few miles off, this is below Diamond Ridge, not above Crossman Ridge'. Rather than remove it, could you change it to the correct locality, please! I have put my estimate back in, so all you need do is correct the figures to give the right location. Thanks! - MPF (talk) 22:27, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think I propbably tried that at the time and wasn't able to figure it out. I think I got it now. Just Step Sideways (talk) 23:18, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, many thanks! - MPF (talk) 14:43, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note

F1 only applies when there is a clear copyright violation, not if there is a plausible argument that the logo is below COM:TOO US, as there was at File:Chariot RGB Primary-Logo FC.svg. Any scope arguments should be settled via a DR. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 10:02, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Serious question

yawn

Did this come up in a Wikipediocracy thread? And if not, why are you pestering me about several oddly specific files, or even interacting with me period? I’m not asking this because I want to “grind an axe”, I’m asking for the sake of transparency. If you or other as-yet-uninvolved parties were canvassed to do this by an off-wiki site other voters deserve to know. Dronebogus (talk) 22:39, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Does any of that make any difference as to whether these images are within the stated scope and purpose of Commons? (hint: no) Nobody told or asked me to nominate anything, I made my own decision as I always do. Just Step Sideways (talk) 00:10, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn’t answer my question Dronebogus (talk) 00:18, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It points out that your question is meaningless. We're here, on Commons, talking about the appropriateness of images you uploaded and/or have in your gallery. I had hoped you had gotten the message before that Commons shouldn't be hosting homemade cartoon porn of no educational value, but apparently not. Just Step Sideways (talk) 00:58, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It’s not meaningless if it amounts to discreet canvassing. Dronebogus (talk) 01:02, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

Thanks! Oddly enough, in a recent discussion somebody actually brought it up as a negative point, which I thought was very strange, so it's nice to know someone saw it and appreciated it. Just Step Sideways (talk) 19:47, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
