Hello Jeff, would Transformer house or Transformer building or transformer vault be a good word to describe this kind of buildings? Since my knowledge of the English language is far from perfect, and there are quite some images of this kind of buildings, I knock on your door. Thanks. Lotje (talk) 09:30, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lotje: Of those three, Category:Transformer vault actually exists as a cat redirect to Category:Distribution substations, so I would use that (or a deep subcat like Category:Distribution substations in Oulu, which contains File:Distribution substation Oulu pre 1939 02.jpg, a similar pic of what looks like the same building with different shadows and zoomed in).   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 11:29, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you ever so much George. :) Lotje (talk) 14:38, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jeff, you are a native speaker, I'm not. During the past weeks and months we had an increasing number of DRs related to private property ("you are not allowed to photograph my house as I didn't give my permission to do so" or the like). Most of these DRs are from Germany and France. I'd like to create a subcat of Category:Deletion requests by specific subject to gather them. How could that cat be named properly? Cheers, Achim55 (talk) 15:15, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Achim55: The defense would generally be FOP. Aside from Category:FOP-related deletion requests/pending, Category:French FOP cases/pending, and Category:German FOP cases/pending (and related deleted/kept/undeleted) cats, I am unsure. Why do these homeowners think they need to be asked for permission? If privacy or GDPR, I suggest Category:Privacy-related deletion requests/pending be expanded by union then country, starting below Category:Homeowner privacy-related deletion requests/pending. Substitute "Tenant", "Landlord", "Caretaker", etc. for "Homeowner" as necessary.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 16:50, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a FOP problem as FOP implies a copyright issue what doesn't fit here. It's a kind of misunderstanding of their rights regarding information privacy. They think that they own the right to prohibit the publication just because they own a thing (house/car/boat/dog etc.). On dewiki a page de:Recht am Bild der eigenen Sache has been made to make it clear that there is no such right (at least in German-speaking countries). I thought of Category:Property-related deletion request or would that be misleading? --Achim55 (talk) 17:41, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Achim55: I think Category:Property-related deletion requests would be more acceptable. Reading that page through Google Translate, I think a new industry in photo permits may arise. :)   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 17:52, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jeff, thank you very much, will do so. Achim55 (talk) 18:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:Volshebnoye Zerno - The Magic Seed (1942, silent).webm has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
